KONO, SIERRA LEONE - JULY 21, 2011
Dahbo, a healthcare worker with the Wellbody Alliance, tends to a woman suffering from malaria on July 21, 2011. After the civil war concessions were made to the people of Sierra Leone. One of those promises was free healthcare for pregnant and lactating women and children 3 or younger. Corruption in hospitals has made it nearly impossible for any one who is promised free care to actual receive free care. The Wellbody Alliance is an NGO that is able to provide these services to people and employ 90 percent of the staff with locals.
