KAMADU VILLAGE - SIERRA LEONE 04-03-2015
Mr. Fengai, a traditional healer, performs a ritual ceremony to prevent a miscarriage for a young woman, Bintu Willam, who has already lost two babies in Kamadu Village in Sierra Leone's rural Kono District on April 3, 2015. The ceremony requires participation from both husband, Komba Bockerie, left, and, Bintu. Fengai stands behind the couple with a winnower to fan the couple as they sit on the firestones that were used to cook the traditional dish of rice, a dried boneless fish called sane and a special blend of herbs to expel the evil spirit from Bintu's womb.
